If we care: A quick guide to sun protection for kids

Si nos importa: Guía rápida de protección solar para niños
At Tintarella we care about protecting the little ones in the family from the sun. We choose prevention rather than repair.

Sun protection in children is crucial to prevent skin damage and reduce the risk of skin cancer in the future.

We have 3 recommendations for you on how to choose a sunscreen:

1. Look for products with SPF 30 or higher that are water-resistant and labeled "non-comedogenic" (won't clog pores).
2. Opt for sun creams, as they act as a physical barrier against UV rays.
3. Choose lotion or spray options. They are easy to apply, especially on restless children.

The most recommended brands are Neutrogena, Nivea, La Roche-Posay, Mustela and Babyganics, some of which are biodegradable.

Applying sunscreen is crucial. Here are some tips from experts:

1. Apply every 2 hours or after swimming or sweating.
2. Apply 15-30 minutes before sun exposure.
3. Covers all areas, face, ears, neck, arms and legs.
4. Avoid applying to eyes, use sunscreen specifically for eyes.

In addition to protecting the little ones with sun creams, it is recommended
Wear protective clothing such as long-sleeved shirts with UV protection, ideal for the beach or constant sun exposure.

Remember that it is important to consult with a health professional for personalized advice on sun protection for your children.
